Though I agree, I would've given Spiderverse the animated movie of the year imo. The Boy and the Heron movie was alright. If The Dark Knight ended on a cliffhanger -- the Joker revealing that Batman's parents were still alive or that Alfred was the one who killed them -- what guarantee would there be that the next movie wouldn't end up being The Dark Knight Rises?
