Yes. The shifting clock is stupid, and a relic of the past. Just pick one side and stick to it.

Most people want to stop the clock switching but no one can agree on whether to eliminate DST or make it permanent

is this really the main problem with this? couldn't this be easily solved?

It loses money. It disrupts everything.

There's no reason to continue it except to kick people like dogs twice a year. It's the government on a power trip, reminding people that they are the gods and they say when it's day or when it's night. There's no other reason whatsoever.

Global time would be the easiest solution, but humans are stupid and wouldn't be able to adjust

DST:It's a psych change. It does work. But those who hate it are either businesses or suffer from jet lag. Since my circadian rhythms are fucked, I either don't suffer jet lag at all, or *always* suffer it.

I am the same way. But I know that they add and subtract the time by 1 hour each year. I can see why it may be pointless however.

is this really the reason? i thought some companies were lobbying some members of congress to keep it. Though i very vaguely read that though.

We weren't supposed to change the clocks in November last year.
Exactly a year ago was supposed to be the last time, ever.
Even had literally unanimous Senate votes.
Congress still managed to fuck it up.

Make DST permanent so it doesnt get dark at 5 PM in winter, as I like to cook outside and having to wear a headlamp is annoying.

I tend to dislike the spring forward part, because I am sheltered, very sedentary night worker.
(Note:Rarely ever goes outside nowadays, except to go somewhere [IE:Work])

I like sunny skies as much as the next, but I also would like to go home and have my "morning coffee" after a hard days work and not see that it's light ALREADY.

I also dislike it when it's actually dark by 5 PM. Too soon.
