When they arranged a meeting between Charlie and Sera for Heavens side to have it in a court-esque manner with tons of spectators?
Given that only Sera and the Exorcists were supposed to know about the Extermination, why the fuck would she have a meeting in front of those oblivious to it? I mean Charlies opening statement couldve been something like Ive come to propose a non-violent alternative to the yearly extermination of my people, which wouldve fucked everything up.
