Honestly, I don't mind the Shenmue-isms like awkward controls or silly voice acting, since that enhances the B-movie feel to everything. It's really that stamina thing that really killed my interest previously. I remember a couple years ago thinking, "Man, I've heard a lot of great things about Shenmue. I should play 1 and 2 before I try 3." I started 1 on Steam, thought it was absolute straight trash lmao. Controls were definitely too dated for my liking. Game probably is great though, and I might revisit it one day, but man, it was rough.
