No because grade inflation is a real problem. Getting 4.0 at one school can be easier than getting 3.0 at another

Unless you're looking for Ivy League or maybe private school the ACT/SAT is a scam that can be ignored. Just go to a community College and get into a four way school that way.

Aren't many very exclusive colleges getting rid of it?

Problems with pre-college tests:
- almost entirely correlated to income
- poor indication of future college achievement
- can be pricey to take/retake
- racial biased all over

Pros of pre-college tests:
- can highlight outliers
- extrinsic indicator of success, can study for the test

I went to a college "without grades" and standards were MUCH higher than a nearby well-regarded university. Grades are a real shitty metric in the first place if you think about it for a second.
