I am currently based in CA, would like to live in Seattle for two months in the summer. I work remotely so I don't have to worry about work or anything. Im planning on bringing my car up and trying to find a short term rental. Would any complications arise if I dont declare residency in WA?

I live in Washington and the person in the apartment next to me still has a North Carolina license plate.

2 months? I've done it for a few years before. Different states but that doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure you have to pay taxes to the state you live in even if the state you work in is also taking taxes out

If you move to another state without telling your employer, they will get mad, because they will be paying the wrong amount for their share of your taxes, and possibly breaking other employment-related rules.

well yeah this too probably. the IRS doesn't have time to investigate a few months worth of one person's taxes.
