Yeah when it first launched but that was due to the immense technical problems it had, not really for its game content, plus CP2077 got pulled from the store entirely while Microsoft kept it on their storefront but added disclaimers to the summary page.

Honestly I'm here for that. Eventually enough of these uninspired battle pass money-farming vehicles will fail spectacularly, and companies will finally realize that they're just as risky as full sized games.

About time honestly, these types of games need to die sooner to stem the flow of them that come out.

GaaS is only successful if the game it's based on is successful.

I've been really confused by this game's performance on Steam. It's been sitting at Mostly Positive (and I think even Very Positive at one point). But if it's bad enough that people are demanding refunds, that'd normally be Mixed at best. I have heard allegations of negative reviews being deleted, but I never saw any direct confirmation of this fact.

Nah. For a game this bad, people will normally buy it just to give it a negative review and then refund it.

If you spent money on this game, you don't deserve to have it given back to you. Take some responsibility for your poor decisions.

They're not, in Australia anyway. No EULA or ToS can supersede our consumer rights.

Cyberpunk was a different story slightly. It was CDPR that issued refunds directly if I recall. Sony didn't want to at first but eventually went with it.

This is like... a special form of being dogshit that Suicide Squad achieved here.

Does Margot Robbie voice Harley in the game? If not, thats why. Shes one of only two good things about Suicide Squad (the other being Viola Davis).

(Though Tara Strong is an acceptable substitute.)

Think that's eye opening? Check out the subreddit for that game. It's barely a percent of Fortnite's population so naturally the only ones engaging in its echo chamber will be the morons who paid money to play it.

Hmm. I guess they can only do it with shitty fake developers and asset flippers who try to put no-refund clauses in EULAs. Valve has way more clout over such clowns than they do over a big publisher, even if they own the platform.

I remember when JS Sterling did a video of some shitty asset flip (Airport Simulator or something) and the developer contacted them saying they needed to write to them asking for permission to review and refund it. JS Sterling used the Steam refund feature and got their refund as normal because Valve doesnt give a shit what some anonymous studio in Eastern Europe has to say.

The issue is that its a run off the mill shit game in a saturated genre and making every hero you play feel the exact same with everyone getting guns despite that not being a fit for the characters.

I'm feeling kinda conflicted here. On one hand it's great that it sends a message to big studios pushing their GaaS shit. On the other hand, it's exactly what it was advertised as. People buying it knew what they were getting into.

People are susceptible to marketing, hype, and peer pressure. I've learned not to be, but it took me a while to get there.

I got curious from people ragging on the game and went to watch the story on YouTube shortly after it came out. Holy crap was it bad, even for super hero nonsense. What they showed of boss fights and the endgame loop also looked terrible with the endgame loop being to re-fight bosses you've already beat, except with adds this time. And the worst part is you don't even get the actual story conclusion in the base game; the only way to see how it ends would be to sit through their entire GaaS cycle.

Sony's refund policy isn't as strict as people think

They've refunded a few games fairly recently due to various factors

Football Manager 2023 was refunded automatically just before its original launch date, before that Cyberpunk 2077, and I'm sure there have been other cases with obscure gams too.

Whenever someone online buys & plays the most rank disgusting garbage of a game, this is always the one commonality of a statement that I see people saying at the same time. It's become something of a dead giveaway that people know they bought a failure of a game, but they're trying to rationalize the decision, & "I'm HavIng A BlAsT" is what everyone says.

That was the question I entered this thread to ask.

It's like buying acred shirt and then deciding to be pissed off that it's red. I guess it could happen for particular customers who are literally blind but for everyone else, you knew exactly what you were getting.

Why? Is the game not functional, fundamentally broken or literally unplayable? Why should Sony take responsibility if the game is simply bad?

Is this cause the game is bad, or a massive buggy mess?

I don't know if that is true, they been putting out battlepass games for years, and almost all of them fail, and yet they still do it.

You seriously don't need to defend the soulless cash grab game, my guy.

I'll be the bigger person as someone who actually played it because I was gifted free from my friend. The reason it's a positive review on steam is because the game is exactly as its advertised, a looter shooter there's no bait and switch and what not. If you like looter shooters, this game delivers on it. As someone who played it, it actually plays really well and runs at a smooth FPS and the traversal is one of the best in its genre, imo. Also the battle pass (which hasn't came out yet) won't expire and the store is all cosmetics. Now for why the playerbase is so small at the moment is because the end game content is boring. The biggest weakness about this game is its lack of mission variety's, or in this case there's only like 3 different type of incursions missions (that give you exclusive weapons you can't get anywhere else) and replaying them on harder difficulties only makes the enemies bigger damage sponges and harder hitters as oppose to making them harder in other ways like reflexes or positioning (which is something warframe and destiny 2 does better). For why the refund is happening because the game has been having server issues since day 1. It's basically the hydra effect when it comes to server issues, they fix one issue and three more takes it place. It's gotten to the point where finishing incursion missions and loading back to the main map would put you in an eternal loading screen and restarting the game would get rid of all the loot you earned in that mission. They just announced the new season won't happen until the end of March and that they won't be doing any more weekly patches regarding server issues because they're trying to get the new season up and working. These server issues are game breaking and most of the problem would be solved if they released this game with an offline mode, which they announce won't happen for awhile. So it's not a buggy mess like Cyberpunk2077, but the servers being broken the way they are it might as well count as a buggy mess.

Jesus, imagine launching a game that has server issues even when only a few thousand people are playing. I understand issues for huge successes like WoW or Helldivers 2, but it's not like Suicide Squad ever had a massive influx of players.

Those kinds of issues should be tested for and solved before launch.
