This hits me personally. I wouldn't wish dementia on anyone. I get chills thinking about it.

Also, her form of dementia, Frontotemporal_dementia, can cause her to be more vulgar.

my MIL was diagnosed with this last year and turned from a sweet old lady to a vulgar racist pretty quickly.

Fuck dementia. As with cancer it seems like everyone's family has at least one case. Mine's had at least five I've known of, three of which were my grandmother and two of her siblings.

Correct, you need to make a complete sentence or else it doesn't count as 80/80.

Its sad, but I cannot stress enough how vile a person she has been and how unrepentant shes been about it. Its hard for me to pity her.

I had a great aunt that went out like this. Absolutely mean, vicious woman in her lifetime. Died mean. When she died, at a very advanced age mind you (evil lingers), no one was sad. We only felt relief. Dont be the kind of person whose death will only bring relief.

Its wild, because if anyone else was openly homophobic, mocked sexual assault victims, the dead, violated their loved ones health privacy, and so much more, yall would wish DEATH upon them.

Not getting the pity here.

To be fair in some cases a persons death can bring relief but not for spiteful reasons. When my grandmother with advanced Alzheimers eventually died, it was a relief for everyone since we could finally move on from that purgatory and what little awareness (and likely suffering) she had was finally put to rest.

They call Alzheimers the long goodbye for a reason.

Because this type of thing is one of the worst possible things that can happen to a person. If I had to pick this for myself or a whole lottttt of other beyond horrible torture I would just about never be picking this.

We truly need this type of shit solved so it doesnt happen.

But you always miss them. They are no longer suffering, but not being around really sucks. Hits hard especially when you don't believe there is an after life.

Of course. But at least you can start grieving. As long as theyre lingering you have constant worries on your mind, up to and including whether or not the home theyre in is treating them properly and how much discomfort and pain theyre in.
