10. Xmen days of future past: I remember watching the 90s xmen show and while sentinels were massive, they were surprisingly soft. The color scheme also didnt help. These were scary fuckers more out of a horror movie, one of the better adaptations that go unnoticed. Also it mixed the old and new xmen cast well while giving wolverine a good starring role

9. Spiderman No Way Home: its become cool to hate on it and the reason for why things occurs is kind of silly but this movie made me appreciate all 3 live action spidermen more

8. Black Panther. A movie that caught me by surprise. The lead is good, the villain is amazing. The sci-fi aspect of Wakanda was well realized. If the final battle wasnt a ps3 quality cutscene this could go higher

7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The Guardians under James Gunn get a near perfect sendoff. Rocket has an emotional story. The movie is beautiful which is never discussed. Its weird that ant man quantumania fumbled Kang and this movie did Kang better a few months later in the high evolutionary

6. Spiderman Across the Spiderverse. Beautiful visuals that take advantage of what would be difficult to impossible to film in live action plus cgi. Gwen gets an expanded role which really hits. Family dynamic is great. Spot is a fun villain. I didnt like the goofy spiderman squad in the first one and this got rid of them

5. Captain America Civil War. I think this is the comic book movie with the best action. Tony and Steve just have such conflicting personalities with each other that the conflict works

4. The Dark Knight. Everyone knows what it is. Heath Ledger steals the show as the best Joker ever.

3. Thor Ragnarok: I didnt care for the thor movies or Thor in the Avengers movies. I had zero interest in this movie. Didnt even bother to click on the trailers. Watched it and it was a blast. This is my fun comfort movie. Its always on in my place as my backgroumd noise movie now as well. Great fights, great visuals, gave thor the update he needed. Thor needed loki, hulk to play with. Hela was a great villain

2. Avengers Endgame. I cant think of a better conclusion to 23ish movies. It referenced almost all of them well.

1. Avengers Infinity War. This movie did so much with Thanos. Every line he says is quotable and memorable. Up to this moment this may have been Strange and Thor's best iterations. Amazing fights and of course the snap

GotG 1 is the best of the 3 imo, but I did enjoy 3 a lot. My favorite of the individual MCU series by far; always felt they would stand on their own outside of the MCU and may even actually have been better had they been independent it.

Guardians 3 is more emotional. Guardians 1 has a bad villain, guardians 3 has a great one. Guardians 1 did walk so guardians 3 could run but for me guardians 3 is better

Guardians 2 has even more emotional beats, IMO. It just fumbles a bit with the comedy.

3 was probably the best balance.

Recency bias!

The raimi spiderman movies never resonated with me that much, they were fine. Same for the original xmen movies. Early mcu movies were bery samey.

Dont care for anything in the 90s or before in this sub genre

Agreed. Still love the movie but 2 has a whole middle section that just fumbles with too much comedy which doesnt hit

Missing The Batman, Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 totally holds up, just because it embraces some comic book camp doesnt mean it was only good for its time. Like, Roger Ebert gave this movie a 4/4. Even then it wasnt just a relatively good superhero movie, it was a great movie that happened to be about a superhero.

Black Panther idk. Killmonger is cool but I thought the rest of the movie, besides the Wakanda culture stuff, was forgettable. A whole suit of vibranium also made action kinda uninteresting to me IIRC.

The Avengers movies. I totally understand why people rate these so highly, I just personally find it hard to put them in my top 10 because they arent meant to stand on their own, even if you can enjoy a watch individually.

I liked GotG 3 but I have too many problems with it to confidently say its even the best GotG. I thought they really screwed up Drax. His arc in the movie is you were meant to be a dad, but almost all his interactions with kids in the movie are terrible and get them hurt for laughs. He was so fucking stupid in this movie it frustrated me and I didnt find myself laughing with him like before. Also, I think the movie kinda failed that planet of furry people. How is there so much emotional weight put on the lab animals after we just basically blew by a planet of sentient life getting genocided? After the people there helped the guardians despite their fear too. Just an odd part of the movie., tonally.

AtSV, TDK, Xmen all fair. I probably like First Class more though.

Im not going to argue with raimi spidermam movies as they didnt click back then and still dont. I domt hate them and give them all the mercy 7/10. I dont see any of them as teenagers, never did. They are full grown ass men and women in a school setting. Tobey always looks like hes crying, regardless of when hes happy, angry or neutral. I know its their origims but all 3 villains are freak lab accidents. There are plus points to these movies but they dont sniff my top 10

I think vibranium on vibranium didnt work but the rest of it was good. Killmonger vs tchalla 1 was really good. I also give it credit for taking a lesser known setting and doing it well

The avengers movies do stand on their own (minus endgame). They are enhanced by watching everything else. Not that im saying sales dictates quality but infinity war and endgame are 2 of the biggest movies ever but everyone that watched those didnt watch all 20 movies before them. People know they can jump in and have a blast

Drax was a joke well before guardians 3 so I cant even fault 3 for his failings. I loved the consequences of animal planet, added to the evil of high evolutionary
