The pacing felt a little rushed but they really jammed a lot into that 2 hours and 46 minutes. This one is visually on a whole different level tho. Also for us book readers I think the ending was a little unnecessary. Like I get what they were trying to do but I think they could have ended it more concise. Also, I think ~~Yueh~~ was the worst written character in the two movies. And, the whole thing with the family's declaring war did not happen either he just became Emperor. On top of that...the ending is...completely changed. This whole thing with Chani going on her own...are they...are they going to have her fight against Paul? She kept saying how its only a real freedom when her own pepole fight for it...they are not going to recon the whole series just to make Chani the true hero are they? I think in the movie Paul had Stilgar and Chani more guiding him but book Paul used his mentat ways and jessicas training to survive the desert. Like chani said this is the fremen ways was good but i thought Book Paul used the best of both worlds tbh. great movie. Too many people, too many ideologies, too many opposing forces to try to placate. I guess not many ever read the book because...there's kind of a lot of changes...Jessica was suppose to give birth to her child already, and Paul was suppose to HAVE a child that got killed...hence pushing him to go full holy war. And, the whole thing with the family's declaring war did not happen either he just became Emperor. On top of that...the ending is...completely changed. This whole thing with Chani going on her own...are they...are they going to have her fight against Paul? She kept saying how its only a real freedom when her own pepole fight for it...they are not going to recon the whole series just to make Chani the true hero are they? That...that would be...a rather massive change to say the least. I didn't mind Alia was changed, and I actually appreciated the Chani changes at the end. I don't think it's going to affect the next book adaptation as much as people are worried about. Remember Paul said he's seen the future and Chani coming around. ~~I do wish they had left Leto II in and made the time skip a little longer. It isn't always fun to watch but on a technical level, shooting, cinematography, audio, themes it balances, ambition.
