SACRAMENTO, Calif. A group of Republicans involved in the failed 2021 recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that they plan another attempt to remove him from office, a longshot bid that would require more than 1.3 million valid voter signatures to qualify for the ballot.

Rescue California, which ran a campaign in support of the 2021 attempt to recall Newsom, is the main proponent of the new effort, said Anne Dunsmore, campaign director of Rescue California. Dunsmore said the group planned to deliver recall papers to Newsoms office Monday, which was first reported by Politico.

She pointed to Californias massive budget deficit and what she described as Newsoms focus on campaigning for Democrats in other states as reasons why voters should back the recall.

Its not a good time for him to check out, Dunsmore said. But if hes going to check out, well kick him out.

Let them burn their money.

Keeps money from going to house candidates in California that are up for grabs.

They shouldn't even be allowed to do this. There should be one chance, that's it. and they don't even get that if they have a history of doing it (i.e. they don't get to try to recall every single governor for the "crime" of being a democrat.)

They need to update the laws on this because republicans are such petty spoiled brats.

Last time they did this, it was estimated to has wasted a Powerball's jackpot worth of money.

And not the initial 20 million or so, but a sizeable, people will wait in line sort of jackpot.

Their first attempt arguably just made him more popular here...

This shit's so dumb. They really should alter the language of that amendment.
