Just beat it 100%

It offers a lot more and does things a lot bigger than God of War 2018 and not all of it is on par with that. Specifically the side quests and a few segments of the main game. So not quite as good, but still a completely worthwhile sequel to a pretty much perfect game.

The first 2/3rds of the game is fantastic. There are times it slows down, but it was never enough to take the enjoyment from me. I will say though the third act does go by way too fast (especially the Ragnarok part) and I think this game could've benefitted from having another part. Still a fantastic game though, a personal 10/10 from me. The Valhalla dlc being excellent and free just adds more to the game.

Yeah I beat it a couple months ago. 100% on GMGOW. imo one of the best games of all time. bigger and somehow better than the previous game in basically every way. My only complaints are minor quibbles

I do agree that the ending felt rushed, but ultimately that was only a couple hours out of a 40+ hour game so I don't knock it much for that

my only real issue was how your companion would often start suggesting the solution to a puzzle before you had a chance to look at it.

hopefully it's something that was, or will be, patched out.

besides that, GOAT game.

I'll probably wait a while to play it again, but I want to eventually so I can go through the DLC.

I plat'd it, but definitely consider it a step down from 2018 in terms of story. Combat was great though.

Yeah I had the same problem with the game offering tips too quickly. Often I'd get to an area and search for loot and Mimir would offer advice up before I even looked at the puzzle. I'd say do what they did in TLoU2 where after a certain amount of time you can click R3 or something to trigger a suggestion instead. Or even make it a customizable option. There are already an impressive amount of things the game lets you tweak in the menus.

My only other issue was the level design in Vanaheim. Particularly the winding jungles with the long windy lakes and the day/night gimmick. I lost a ridiculous amount of time trying to get around there while searching for collectibles on a return trip. Completely baffles me why there is no fast travel location anywhere remotely close to that one area of the game.

Other than that I loved what they did with the areas. Having multiple wide open areas to explore with a crazy amount of variety in them. Plus all the dialog they have for the characters throughout that is impressive. Especially since it appears they did multiple versions depends on who you are with and at what point in the story.
