Just tired of the headaches and inconsistencies on this shift

I'm the lead of my department at a pet food/supplies warehouse and after almost 6 years on 2nd shift, I'm getting to that point that it's time for a change

I'd be losing $1.50/hr but having a dedicated out-time everyday instead of relying on slow ass people to get their job done, which it turns allows me to leave, is getting pretty old

Hate to give up the money but less stress/better sleep/more time for a personal life seems very tempting

That's, what, ~3k annually?

If switching helps your health and happiness it'll probably be worth the tradeoff both for your quality of living and to cut down on stressors.

Probably, haven't done the math on it yet but another issue would be giving up all the time-and-a-half OT.....averaging 50hrs/week on a bi-weekly pay period currently.....if I go to 1st shift it's basically a straight 40hr/week with maybe a couple hours of OT here and there

So I'd also be giving up an almost guaranteed 15-20hrs of OT
