Solar_Crimson 02/21/24 9:16:39 PM #1:	Ever since the last Windows update, it had been running kind of weird, and this morning I started getting notifications telling me to restart the PC so that it could attempt repairs. I bought an external SSD from Amazon today and tried to copy my files over before what I felt was an impending failure, but the PC shit the bed right as I was still in the middle of copying files. I did the Chkdsk which completed, but then it went straight to an Automatic Repair, which couldn't repair anything. In my experience in IT, this means that either something in Windows has screwed up, or the hard drive itself is starting to go bad. I was planning on getting a new PC this year anyway, but I was hoping that my laptop would at least hold out until then. I have a HDD adapter at work so I'm going to bring that home tomorrow and pull the HDD and see if I can still pull the rest of my files. Though it's taking a hell of a time to give me the permissions to view the contents of my user folder on it.
