$22/hour, I think. I'm not entirely sure. They direct deposit my paycheck, but the site they use for pay stubs stopped accepting my password months back so I haven't been able to see them. I just kinda take it on faith that they're giving me the proper amount.

Dishwashing is one of my dream careers but heard it can be hard to get into. Do most places look for college degrees in hospitality and some years of experience?

They use these tiny little 1 oz ramekins full of of an herb oil for bread that you have to wipe out individually because the oil will linger through the dishwasher. Pretty annoying. Also hate the pans and broiler plates that you have to rip at with steel wool because stuff is burned into them. Years ago I knew another sorta eccentric guy named Dishwasher Danny who hitchhiked around and wanted to do dishes in all 50 US states. He talked about working a casino job as the only dishwasher. Said he made great money but it was hell -- he could only do it for a couple weeks and this was a lifelong dishwasher. I'm not sure I would be keen on that.

Be a long-distance runner. It's very helpful having tons of energy when you've gotta do 11-12k steps per shift, and people don't question how much you're actually doing if they see you moving around quickly and confidently.

No, actually I needed surprisingly little in the way of qualifications. I assume it was because of my winning personality, I don't know if the experience is replicable by another.

Not that I know of. I've used orange and purple degreasers, but no blue degreaser yet.

Hard to say, the dishwashing stat sites use different methodologies. I'm a proponent of wDWPM+ which normalizes the data, adjusting for the various dishwashing setups, feeds, capacities, and distance to put the dishes away. It scales you to an average of 100. This past month I've been around a 120 (20% better than average), but I feel like I have the potential to push it even higher.
