The team handling my job's app suddenly decided, without informing anyone, to send a verification email every time someone logs in. They claim it's for security, but it just makes it more difficult for customers x.x

the "tough decisions" made by higher ups are usually from misinterpreted data or bad information/understanding of a situation. they will then double down when they find out it was a bad idea so that they don't seem stupid

They think they get paid to have ideas so they push through a lot of bad ideas just so they can tell their boss that they're doing something. And they tend to keep around people who tell them what they want to hear even when it's objectively false.
