the thing about having a character who's just a woman in tank top and shorts is that if you make it realistic, you just have a woman in tank top and shorts. But if the art direction is less realistic, you can still give good quality graphics but have an interesting take/design that doesn't look so generic.

I appreciate them trying to consolidate the character into one look. She borrows aspects from the original and remake versions. It makes me think of the Joker being given a Chelsea grin in the comics after The Dark Knight came out.

I gotta say, this probably third place for me in terms of the overall character design. They're trying to go for the "strong female character" type and be sexy without being too sexy. I don't feel like she really captures either vibe that she's aiming for.

You're never going to please everybody. They should have doubled down on the strong modern version rather than doubling back and giving us a sanitized, "acceptable" version of the old Lara..

What they did does not come close to being satisfying. Yes, i agree. They should go with their "vision" and completely alienate the fans of Core Design Lara. But, what is interesting, is that in the first Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider, Lara looked like this. So, we must ask what happened for them to change their mind regarding Lara's looks and attire.
