Just curious, but when you hear, for example, that something is one month away, what does that infer to you?

Using today as an example, what day/date is in one month?

Why do you care what we think a month feels like

If I had to pick I'd say the same date in the next month. But when someone says something's a month away I assume they mean about a month away and if I need to know the exact date I'll ask.

30 days. Scaling up or down a day is implied as common sense, but a month is standardized to 30 days.

This doesn't take leap years into account.

In 400 years there are 97 leap years, 4800 months, so ((365 * 303) + (366 * 97)) / 4800 = 30.436875

30 is easier to visualize, but technically more months have 31 days than have 30 or 28/29. Seven months have 31, while just five do not.

Okay, so like I said in the opening post, let's use today, February 14, as an example. If someone were to say, "Let's hang out again in one month."

Is "one month" from now, assuming we're counting today:
March 13 (Wednesday), which is 28 days/4 weeks from today, or
March 14 (Thursday), which is the same date as today, or
March 15 (Friday), which is 30 days from today, or
March 16 (Saturday), which is 31 days from today

Let's also assume they don't specify the date. Which do you assume it would be?

I would just assume sometime in the middle of March if no date is specified.

If they say "one month from today", then probably March 14th.

if you say a month from now, i think the next month, same calendar day. so I'll go with that. only 1 month is 28 days 3/4ths of the time, and the rest can be 30 or 31. only consistent measurement.

Normally id go for the last one. if i say "in one months time" today im thinking of the 17th march not 4 weeks from now (which is the 16th)

But whilst i can think of any examples off the top, i do feel there are instances where the other 4 dates can count as well.
