Okay, so like I said in the opening post, let's use today, February 14, as an example. If someone were to say, "Let's hang out again in one month."

Is "one month" from now, assuming we're counting today:
March 13 (Wednesday), which is 28 days/4 weeks from today, or
March 14 (Thursday), which is the same date as today, or
March 15 (Friday), which is 30 days from today, or
March 16 (Saturday), which is 31 days from today

Let's also assume they don't specify the date. Which do you assume it would be?

It is always... March 14.

This doesn't take leap years into account.

In 400 years there are 97 leap years, 4800 months, so ((365 * 303) + (366 * 97)) / 4800 = 30.436875

The technical length of a year:

365.2422 / 12 = 30.43685

Each month you are billed, it should cover 39.43685 days.

A month is longer than a week but the same length as several weeks, but is a specific number.

An inivisible enemy that seems to have infinite ammunition against all odds is longer than a month though

Also, 13 months (28 days each) fits better into a year than 12 30 day months.

30 day months leave 5 days or so. Not very good.

Another solution to try to eliminate leap days is to merge years into larger cycles. Like instead of 4 years, make it a 365.25 * 4 day long cycle.

One moon. No more, no less.

Screw calendars. Its the moon. You can't mess up THE MOON.

A month from today is the same date next month or more rarely the same day of the week 4 weeks from now. Anything else is sometime roughly 4 weeks from now.

Similarly, a moon phase lasts 29.5 days.

Nature is messy.

Years are not exact, nor are moonths.

But. 29.5 2 can fit nicer into a 59 day cycle. 2 moons.
