We cant stop the collapse of the AMOC anymore than we can prevent the arctic ice from disappearing at this point, nor the Thwaites glacier and the rest of the west Antarctic ice sheet that will follow. It has already begun.

Not so much this go around, what with the end of the holocene and the loss of arctic ice. We're in uncharted waters. The collapse of the AMOC will be after the arctic ice is all but gone. Right now it's showing early signs of collapse (slowing.) This process will occur over timelines more like a century, rather than a few years.

I'm tired of all this. Nothing is changing. The status quo continues on. Supposedly Biden passed some climate change legislature. The most progressive ever! But it doesn't go far enough.

The catastrophe is no longer avoidable. We're buckled into it. At this point, I just welcome it and hope it's quick and swift. This was humanities great filter and profit motives were too thick to seed through the filter.
