ITT: CE is vastly minimizing the effect the pandemic had on gaming hardware, and game development.
Did you guys know there are multiple 100m+ dollar games being killed in the crib that the suits were pushing because they were popular during the pandemic? Hyenas, Titanfall Legends, just to name two. Those aren't small potatoes to these companies. PC Hardware took a powder from both crypto and chip shortages. Ps5 took it worse. You couldn't find a Switch anywhere for a year. Etc. An effective 3 years minimum on the Nvidia 3xxx series, AMD 6xxx series, Ps5 and Xbox X|S have been erased. My pc from the year 2018 is not beating consoles in newer AAA games that are exclusive to ps5 and series x. Either runs it around the same or worse. It does run older titles better by a noticeable amount tho.
I think main bottleneck for me is that im stuck on pcie 3 mobo w/ an older cpu (9900k) and my card (2080ti) only has 11 gb vram. Tho ofc I can lower textures to prevent vram issues but not much I can do w/ the other thing besides from upgrading. So there some truth to what crimson says for sure --- I'm a Taurus.
