Just get rid of the snow with some crazy high tech hairdryer and throw salt so it doesn't freeze back over

Why just push it somewhere else still in 2024?

Melting a ton of snow very quickly would result in the roads being wet and icing over again. The smarter option would be to have heatable filaments under roads and sidewalks.

Because of that whole power thing and practically? Might as well start to comb the desert to find things.

That would be better, I didn't suggest it because I was afraid that people insist we build trillions dollars worth of missiles instead of solving a domestic situation with heated roads

With the way the roads are in the US, that shit would never work. The roads get so damaged, so quick that the heating elements would be destroyed in under a year.

What if we launch the missiles down the roads and the exhaust melts the snow?

It's insanely expensive and the ROI is not there in milder winters.

If my half-assed estimate is correct, it's about 3 gallons of gas to melt one inch of snow per 100 yards per lane. Or if you want to go electric, it would take a full charge from a Tesla Model S to melt the same area.

Russia has used jet engines to melt snow. Not great for the environment, but probably pretty cool to see.
