Just skimming my junk folder. Is the goal just the war is global news, so lets capitalise and hope men want to fuck them?

Because the scam is working.

it probably started with the idea of "Ok. We have a story where these women are trying to flee the war zone and want to marry guys in Australia to get some residence there"

Then they put it into action. It got a bunch of suckers. So they double down on it because it works.

Most likely, the spam is based on your search history, and your demographics. You are probably a guy in your 30s or above, and middle-low, to middle-upper income, and most of your porn is skinny white women.
