Depending on how you want to play it you can tweak the difficulty to your liking. You can make it so that you're OP right from the start and get a ridiculous amount of XP.

I don't mind difficulty but I don't want to grind too much. I don't want to grind too much.A lot of stuff can be automated by the Pals. So what you really want is just to find good Base locations that have Ore in large quantities(Coal is nice too). Just be sure to cook prepared meals for the Pals to boost their SANity and keep them working longer. Relating to that, Eggs that you can incubate and hatch provide a Pal based on the region where it was caught.
