Maybe they're skipping 9th and going right to 10. Ahead of the curve.

I'll think of a sig later.

nah. I think switch is fine for what it is. the games could be better optimized, especially since most first party games are using cartoony, NPR graphics rather than realistic.
I'm hoping their follow-up to the switch has a bit more oomf to it mostly so their future games can have more complex physics/particle effects (I feel like they are very lazy with particles). so hopefully whatever gpu they use has support for gpu instancing/batching because, from what I can tell, the switch does not support that, and adding it will open up a lot more possibilities w/ graphics as well as number of entities rendered on-screen.

Nintendo seems perfectly comfortable existing as a console that always comes out halfway through generations that doesn't try to compete with anybody. It also seems to have worked for them pretty consistently.

The Wii U was their 8th Gen console and the Switch is their 9th Gen console. Their next console will be 10th Gen which will put them ahead of Sony and Microsoft (figuratively speaking. It won't have better specs than the PS5/Series X)

No, I'm still satisfied with my Switch and have enough backlog for it to keep me playing it until their next console has enough of a library built up to be worth purchasing.

All I care about are fun games and Nintendo is always putting out fun games. I don't need or care about all these fancy graphics. Just good fun games.

I couldn't care less. Console generations have meant less with each iteration as the jumps become increasingly minor.

As long as there are fun games I don't care about the technical specs. RTX and all the bells and whistles have yet to genuinely impress me. 4k is just a resolution, it's good for cinematic games but aside from that it doesn't impress me either. The tech advances for gaming for the past half decade or so have been an utter disappointment in my book.

Good thing there's still fun, well made games to be found though. Either indie or Major titles. All that matters.

Not really.

I like the Switch, and the gains in each generation are becoming more marginal.
