Had her down to one hit with one left for me too. Danced for 30 seconds and was able to dodge an entire waterfowl before killing her.

That fight is bullshit but so satisfying to win.

I only won without other players (used a mimic tho) by staggering her constantly and getting lucky that she never used waterfowl on me in either phase

One of the few bosses I feel no shame using the Mimic Tear while fighting. Yeah, the fight being bullshit, but so satisfying to win is a pretty good description for it.

She's not easy.

I think I used only my mimic, but I know I tried using other players too. They would usually make it worse by dying right away, then I'm left with an even harder to beat Malenia without any help.

I legitimately could not beat her solo.

I used Mimic too, but I also had Rivers of Blood, and bleed works well. It didn't take me very long.

I invited friends and we gang up on her. That's how I beat most bosses.

First kill was a struggle fest, died 30+ times. Subsequent playthroughs I just used cheese methods and friends to gank her. Bolt of Gransax and swarm of flies makes her easy lol

I've never fought Malenia, but the whole both you and the boss being 1 hit away and lasting for 30 seconds is impressive. Like that must have been very nerve wracking the entire time lol.

Im a faith/holy build which sucks late game. But, I kept a ton of space and hit her with lightning spear, the uncharged she wont dodge.

Hit and run away first phase. Pray she only uses waterfowl once. If youre far away the first part wont get to you.

2nd I unleashed frost dragon breath at the start to get her in frost went super aggressive with the flame pillar incant as it knocks her down.

I dont have the skill to match her in the 2nd phase so I got good at buffing when near end of first. When I went her I had her down to close to zero before she could breath, even then it was close.

Used my mimic and spammed flame of the redmanes

Unless you're using something super cheesy like RoB, tossing out the mimic always seemed to me like something that would make the fight worse, not better. She just uses it as a mobile health pack.

Its why I stopped, he just kept healing her.

Im playing Elden Ring for the first time now, still in the early game, but I have a serious problem of getting a boss down to last hit and then just mashing attack to win, then getting wtfpwnd by a combo and losing

But can you beat Nightmare King Grimm?

i spent a couple days trying her, failing, leaving, coming back to try again etc. when i finally beat her i beat her no hit. doesn't make any sense lol.

I used the mimic and beat her. However, she did regen health from it. That said, my build staggered her a lot which was why I won.

I can't imagine how bosses are going to ramp in difficulty after this.

I did this too. We just kept her staggered and she didn't have much of a chance. The trick was learning to dodge her move at the start of the second phase, but after that we melted her.

I beat her earlier this week.

I feel guilty, I had to cheese her with Mohg's Sacred Spear WA.

I couldn't do it with my arcane Venomous Fang build. The build is to proc poison with the claw and gain damage increase with Mushroom Head and Kindred of Rot. Problem is, Malenia's incredibly resistant to poison.

FromSoft DLCs have a track record of including some real ass-beater bosses (Orphan, Laurence, Midir).

If they were cheeky enough to include Malenia in the base game I bet we've got at least one hair-pulling psychopath to face against in the DLC.

I managed to beat her without summons, but it took me 100+ tries lol.

I got rid of all my spells except Night Comet and Comet Azur, the latter of which I only used in her transition to phase two. Took off all my armor for the light roll. Abandoned Moonveil for the Petal Whip with cold infusion.

It was really satisfying to finally beat her and she was my favorite boss in the game.

Shes the most un souls like boss in the game, doesnt feel like she belongs. Feels more like a Sekiro boss.

Now imagine if she had poise and bleed immunity.

Its about that right RNG, the attempts before I finally did it I didnt even get to 2nd phase.

That fight was bullshit and it invalidated my whole build. (Heavy armor/fingerprint shield/cross nagata bleed turtle)

SHE HEALS ON BLOCKS.

So the fight became just spawn my mimic with no shield (more likely to dodge and got medium roll) buff up and go HAM.

Took about a dozen tries but I got her.

I beat her with the moonveil staff combo. Like every other boss in the game, if you use the mimic and blast her with comet azure while the mimic occupies her attention, and the when she comes at you, just use the comet shards spell, shes not that bad.

I also beat her with my dragon knight build too, that magic dragon spell hits hard. On new game plus, its comical really.
