No. Always thought the the Miata was cool though, my dad's friend had one. My brother had an RX-8 for a while, which he raved about. Nothing wrong with them, AFAIK, just the styling doesn't do it for me.

I always forget Mazda and Mitsubishi exist until someone else brings them up

The non-standard rotary engine always put me off, but they look great.

I drive a 2017 Mazda6. I bought it used last January for a solid price, but coincidentally enough, there's been a weird noise coming from the engine that started this week and I have to now pay for someone to look at it and pray it isn't an expensive repair. Seems to still drive perfectly, though. Anyway, beyond that, I've really enjoyed having it and had no complaints.

I've wanted one ever since I played Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS and the Mazda was the best car.

I've had 2 Mazdas. We would still have them if our family didn't grow to 5 with a 3rd kid. They need to bring back a minivan or SUV. I know they have the CX-90 but I rather have something a little bigger.

My experience with Mazda is good though, I think they are on par with Toyota as far as reliability. We never had a single issue with our Mazda3 and sold it with 100k miles for $9500 a few years back.

i almost bought a mazda rx8 that needed some work, brought it to my mechanic to see if he'd be willing to help out and he said he won't go near that engine.

Owned a Mazda 6, great commuter car but the only 2 mazdas I would own would be a FD RX-7 and a Protege5

This is my current car. Bought it in October from Carvana so I paid too much for it but it was cool having a car dropped off in my driveway.

I really like it. Its not fast but its still really fun to drive. Also like how small it is, last car was a 2023 Kia K5 (loved the fuck out of that thing but I was paying like $500 a month for it and I hardly drove it since I work from home so I downgraded to save money) and it was huge. I was always afraid of hitting shit

I wouldn't mind a Miata. Maybe some day, but I have other cars I'd rather own first. I also don't need to buy a car now.

After I received my driver's license, I could've had a 1985 Mazda 626 as well, but it only ran on three cylinders...

We used to have a Mazda CX-3 and currently have a CX-5. Good cars, very reliable as japanese cars usually are.

I had to get a car recently. I preferred the Mazda, but had none within my area and the Toyota was good enough.

Toyota, Mazda, and Honda are basically the only options anymore.
I love my Hyundai Elantra (more than the new Corolla), but with the spectre of it being stolen whenever someone feels like it and Hyundai doing nothing about it, I can't trust them or Kia ever again.
Had a Nissan, it was poorly built. Soured my taste w/ them a lot.
GM, Chevy, and Jeep are lulz nope levels of crap.
Teslas are (still) too expensive and have a bunch of tech crap I can't fucking stand AND seem to be poorly built.
German brands are overpriced and supposedly really expensive to maintain/repair.
Ford seems to be the best American car maker. The rest are just so bad that I kinda assume all American brands aren't to be trusted, but I can't think of anything negative about them. Might add them to the Japanese brands for options when I need my next car.

Heard plenty of good things about their cars, but at the end of the day, we don't have an official place here for recall/warranty work and I love my Subaru + AWD. And being in Alaska, the performance in snow is a real plus, and if it ever needed to go to a Mazda dealer for any work that'd be a huge time + cost sink.

When I was in high school in the early 90's my best friend's parents had an MX-5 convertible. Sporty little thing. I enjoyed it.

Initial D makes the RX7 look cool but if I had to buy one, I'd probably get a new Mazda 3 turbo hatchback. Though I'd be test driving the Golf R or GTI before considering that.

Similarly, I'd probably get a BRZ/GR86 over a MX-5 if I wanted that sort of car.
