I'm not sure if I fit into this criteria. I've been sleeping 3 hours a day for the past week with a decent amount of energy. I feel motivated to take on multiple tasks despite not being able to fully focus on a single project. It feels like similar to a subtle adderall high, but I don't have the complications of paranoia and hallucinations that come as a side effect. I'm actually scared that I have no idea what's happening to my brain. Is it possible to get late onset Bipolar after taking year of medication for depression and anxiety? I'm actually worried that these antidepressants actually changed my brain chemistry and as a result I'm suffering from periods of hypomania.

Are these actions a precursor to having a manic episode? I don't have a point of reference as the only manic people I've seen were the ones exaggerated through television.

It sounds very much like a manic episode.

Bipolar disorder isn't the only cause, though, other issues can cause them.

Definitely talk to someone in your area.

Yes. Seek an evaluation first, men seem to get it later than women.

Hypomania is rough to go through, and in some cases just seems to be a volleyball set for a hyper cycle.

How did you know you were manic for 7 months? If the duration was that long, I would have thought it was just part of my personality.

It is important to note that there are levels of manic and the things you talk about are not necessarily indicative of a manic episode.

From a few people I've known with the disorder, I've seen everything from enhanced energy/creativity/sexuality to full blown "I'm a prophet" manic psychosis.

If accurate, I would presume the crash led to quite a bit of rumination on the subject. One of the main issues with those who have bipolar disorder is them spending an inordinate amount of time trying to catch the high of manic episodes. It is one of the reasons they stop treatment and relapse so often. They can't let it go.

Do you guys have any advice on how I could go to sleep? I'm at this point where my brain feels fried, like when you go on a caffeine binge, but I can't seem to lay down and close my eyes longer than 2 hours.

Please. Any advice would help.

Do you workout? That generally tends to help. Also what time do you normally go to sleep?
