A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel film and the franchises first spinoff, will see how the citizens of New York City, one of the noisiest metropolitans on the globe, fared when these vicious creatures arrived on Earth.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyongo was living in the Big Apple as she prepared to star in this movie opposite Stranger Things breakout Joseph Quinn. This notion of a quiet New York is one that will arrest many, she tells EW. It's an impossible thing to imagine. When you live there, you block out all the sound quite naturally. You just forget to hear the sound. I realized how hard it would be to survive in a world that required you to be silent in that particular city.

Nyongo stars as Sam, a woman whos on a day trip to New York City when the monsters arrive. As everything quickly goes to hell, she's thrown together with a man named Eric (Quinn). With some reluctance, the pair agree to navigate and survive the city together.

Yeah those are my favorite parts of the stories normally. But quiet place never really interested me much. They weren't bad movies but a solid Meh from me.

I just turned on the 2nd one. I was right. Movie begins on the same day as the upcoming movie. Day 1. It's just in a small town instead of in nyc. So 3 won't be the first time it shows Day One

Either suicide or insanity, with the insane trying to force sane people to look at the monsters.

I watched something that said they originally intended for the monsters to look like eldritch horrors with human baby faces, but all the test animations looked stupid so they opted to not show them instead. Probably a good call lol

Wtf that would not make me go insane. I always imagine something "impossible". Basically to me, if looking at it makes you go insane or kill yourself, it has to look "wrong". It needs to not make fucking sense when we look at it. It just doesn't seem like it should even exist because of how wrong it looks. Like it's not even from our universe. That's what I try to imagine when I think of what they would look like
