This movie famously beat out saving private ryan for best picture. Spielberg did win best director , though. Weird. In your opinion was this one of the biggest times the academy got it wrong and the best pic did not win best picture?

I saw a scene of Shakespeare in Love in junior high. I didn't get very far in the King's Speech, but Aviator was top tier, so I was retroactively miffed that it didn't win. I didn't watch The Aviator until years after it came out. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Do the Right Thing lost to Driving Miss Daisy. That's an embarrassing one. But to me, the biggest Oscar snub of all time was Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List losing to Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. There could not be a bigger gulf between two performances.

Ive seen it and I despise it. Shitty movie that only won best picture because of gross ass Weinstein doing gross ass shit behind the scenes to get it to win.
