I work at a hospital interviewing patients about their medication lists before they are admitted. If I'm running behind, I have the option of stopping by the cafeteria. I'm left-handed. So, if I'm eating at my work station, that forces me to use my non-dominant hand to manipulate the mouse and keyboard.

I keep a list of room numbers on a notepad. Once I've seen them, I cross their number out and add a tally mark at the top of the page. The other day, I interviewed one patient before stopping by the cafeteria. When I came back, I tried to cross out their room number with my right hand and found it surprisingly difficult. The same was true for making a simple tally mark. I

I can handle a mousepad or a joystick with my right hand, no problem. But an attempt at a straight line on a piece of paper is more likely to resemble a miniature lightning bolt.

Im also left handed yet always use my right hand for using a mouse. Writing with my right hand though is difficult and uncomfortable. I can kind of do it because Im old enough that I came from that era where schools used to try to force you to use your right hand because they thought writing with your left was wrong. Until my dad told the school to stop doing that to me. That was still very much a thing in the early 80s.

My hand-writing is awful and hard to read either way, i'm just faster with my right than my left. Writing with my left hand also feels very awkward and clumsy.

Very true. I'm actually reluctant to leave coworkers sticky notes because of it.

I'm right handed and my writing looks like shit.

If I tried to write with my left hand it would take me forever to do and still look like it was written by a 5 year old.

I can write decently with my right hand (I'm left handed) because I thought it would be neat to teach myself when I was younger. I don't do it often, but I will say writing right handed is nicer especially when using a pencil because shit doesn't smear all over my hand.

Lots of other things I do only right handed simply because left handed tools aren't available, like idk how to use scissors with my left hand. seems trivial, but I cannot do it no matter how hard I try.
or drums, I play drums in a right handed set up because most kits are set up that way. I do lead with the left, so that's kinda backwards.

Somebody did that for a class once. They were working on a poster, and the writing was meant to look like it was done by a child, so they used their non-dominant hand. The result looked like something written by a person who was just learning how to write.

Right handed. If I write with my left, it's legible but not as tidy, and it takes me longer to do.

There are some things I can do just as well with either though, or some things I do better the "left handed" way. Back when I used to smoke, anyone who saw a cigarette I rolled usually asked me if I was left handed, for example.

I recall hearing that some people don't have a genetic bias on handedness and can learn either way; I do wonder if I'm in that group but just happened to learn right-handed.

I'm right handed and writing with my left hand looks fairly similar to my normal handwriting, just a little shakey, and I write a lot slower.

I used to practice when I was A kid though because I thought it was cool though.
