I work at a hospital interviewing patients about their medication lists before they are admitted. If I'm running behind, I have the option of stopping by the cafeteria. I'm left-handed. So, if I'm eating at my work station, that forces me to use my non-dominant hand to manipulate the mouse and keyboard.

I keep a list of room numbers on a notepad. Once I've seen them, I cross their number out and add a tally mark at the top of the page. The other day, I interviewed one patient before stopping by the cafeteria. When I came back, I tried to cross out their room number with my right hand and found it surprisingly difficult. The same was true for making a simple tally mark. I

I can handle a mousepad or a joystick with my right hand, no problem. But an attempt at a straight line on a piece of paper is more likely to resemble a miniature lightning bolt.
