I feel like the world building and character development has been good too. Good sci-fi needs that

I think they're really doing a whole episode that doesn't even have John in it. the Master Chief suit showed up but basically just as a robot/dream image

I dropped it after 3 episodes.

I agree with the sentiment that the more one knows and enjoyed the lore of the games/books, the less likely they would like the show.

I'm a big enough fan that even small stuff like how certain side characters acted bugged me. Like portraying Admiral Parangosky as anything but the most ruthless, cut-throat bitch in the UNSC legit bugged me.

yeah I've only ever played Halo 1 and 2 so I don't know any of the other lore.

at first I was assuming the season would end with The Flood being released but I saw there's a season 2 so I dunno yet.

I think the show is really well done though. the costumes are way better than stuff like Wheel of Time and the LotR show

I thought it was fine, but I didn't like the narrative they went with. It came across as more annoying than fun and exciting.

They just took a generic sci fi script and slapped the Halo brand on it, the show is objectively trash.

They should have just adapted the first game into the first season, like The Last of Us. Andrew Garland (28 days later, Ex Machina) actually wrote a great script for a Halo movie that followed the first game, it basically turned into a horror movie after the big twist. Would have been a fantastic basis for a show.

I read a review that said they use the words shit and ass in the show, so it sounds pretty good

I finished it today. Liked it but but I did think it could have used 1 or 2 more video gamey sequences.

I have the master chief collection on steam so I'm going to play the games while I wait for season 2 >_>

I saw some clips of battle scenes and thought they were well done. But I have no interest in the show at all despite being a pretty massive Halo fan.

Only watched the first episode when it was put on YouTube. It seemed like a pretty solid scifi show but a terrible Halo adaptation.
