Remember for solo play you can grind as little or as much as you want, there is an exp multiplier slider.

I've had my character and everything reset on an official server 5 times. I get to level 10 and it just asks me to create a new character when I log in.

Time for a private server I guess

I know. There's still a few Alpha I need to do and map I need to explore as well so I don't mind the grind atm. And I still need to locate one of the towers.

Official servers are being wiped constantly. If you want to play persistently you either have to go offline or set up your own dedicated server.

There's hackers everywhere on official servers I wouldn't bother trying to play there even if they didn't wipe.

When you start the game, read the notes. It's a common problem and there is a fix for it. Or at least that's what it says, I haven't had the issue myself so I haven't read beyond that.

That's for local save corruption.

Official servers get wiped intentionally.

Should have figured that. I just steer clear of official servers in any survival/crafting game as it's always a shitshow of toxicity and hacking

The stasis pen (or whatever) is literally a pal chest with a big ass animated sprite.

You walk up and interact with it like a regular chest, it also auto accesses pal box storage.

Use the frost fox for your food cooling needs.

Only cooling 2, but it is the only skill so it wont wander off.

As others have said, the issue is that the game has an auto priority list for skills if the pal has more than one.

Anything that causes your base to have to respawn/the cell its in to refresh will sometimes remove your assigned job when the pals all drop from the sky again.

Frostallion is cooling 4 as its only skill, so you can finally ditch the fox when you get that. But the fox is little and cute, and the alpha legendary is huge so I bred one just for cooling

If you can get him, Vanwyrm Cryst works throughout the night, making in a 24/7 worker, like Tombat. He's a bit bulky, but if you put the Cooler/Refridgerator next to the Feed Box he'll never move.

Vainwyrm Cryst is the best. You still need 2 for true perpetual cooling though because of sanity issues.

I've been trying to get what you mean by this for 15 minutes now. Are you referring to the viewing cage?

After thorough experimenting I found the optimal team is 4 Jetragon and 1 Galeclaw.

You can get Jetragon stuck on a rock and it won't attack you. Bring a pal with a low Cooldown fire attack that you can mount and just wail away.

If you happen to have a Vanwyrm and an Anubis, breed em. The pal you get is the fastest non legendary flyer. Great for exploring at that level

I'm curious about the game, but I'm hesitant.
on one hand, it could very well just be a Flavor of The Month game and die out quickly which doesn't really make me feel certain.
On the other hand, they could go ahead and update it and keep in the goals of their roadmap.
Convince me, lol.

There is no way to convince you as you're absolutely right. That's always the gamble with early access games.
But the devs have been quick and consistent with updates and fixing major problems so far. All that's left to see is how they will handle actual content updates.

Do you have Penking and Bushi? Those can breed an Anubis. You should do that anyway as they're great to have for a mining base and have a great handiwork skill as well.

I mean it's up to you if it's gonna be worth it. I myself like the idea of survival games but never really get more then a small amount of hours in. I enjoy this one with setting up your camp so your creatures can manage the work. It is a flavor of the month but I like what the product is right now so I find it worth it.

Yeah, I only started doing it myself once I learned Penking + Bushi = Anubis. They are crazy to have at early game. If you have 2 of those in your base along with a mining camp, you'll be drowning in stone and paldium in no time.

Well, if they do nerf that location with all the Ore and Coal I did find a backup. It isn't quite as good because the Ore and Coal are on two different levels, so the build area of your base will be limited. But it has 8 and 8, so that's 160 Ingots/Refined Ingots per spawn. It's further south, outside the zone with the main mining base spot.

That's why it is handy to drop your base next to the ore and coal. With a grappling gun you can zip about and end your farming run for 160 ingots within 90 seconds. You aren't going to get the 2k-4.5k needed in carry weight, so having either a base teleporter or some refining stations nearby are paramount for saving yourself some headaches.

Finally caught a Jetragon, what a badass mount!

A 19 story, 7 level tower that takes up the entire base block.

10 breeding farms, 5 ranches, 60 beds, four farms with lumber and stone stations, 2 of each tier 2 assembly line. Storage for 520 pals.

Broken up into three work zones where pals can easily be assigned with sleeping and food stations on each level.

People complain about how many pals are needed for condensing at high levels but trying to breed the perfect ones you will get more than enough:

Yeah, I built it on the shore of the Jormuntide lake. Which is in like a crater lake.

The idea was pals are born there, work there, and are condensed/butchered there without seeing the light of day.

Unfortunately the viewing cages have near infinite height, so it had to be modified slightly on top.

Interestingly the base lies, it says you are out of the base area when you cross that horizontal blue line near the top but you can still access base materials and build base only structures.

I could build more cages all around that overhanging upper lip if I wanted to/needed more pal storage.

I might have maybe gotten a paid dedicated server set-up... Anyone interested in doing some Palling around shit, I think I got 16 Slots, and it's seemingly running like a fucking charm.

Me and the wife gonna get back into this game heavy, we are both around a level 24 or so now.

Finished my first 150 work speed handicraft 5 anubis.

Crafts legendary pal spheres by itself faster than a line of 3 artisan anubis.

It's pretty insane, and I have six more with the same passive loadout I could upgrade.

Also the missiles on a max condensed jet dragon are pretty insane, and with 1k defense it takes very little damage (also finished my swift + runner + legendary + nimble jetdragon).

If only I wasn't a console pleb

Condense Anubis (or another Handicraft 4 pal, if there are any) down to 4 stars and their work suitability goes up by 1 in all categories.

Mind you it takes 118 pals + the 1 being condensed into to max out. So get to breeding!

I think the only one you can't fly on is Galeclaw. Not counting small birds like Fuack.

Lol, even with the breeding set to 1 I'm not going to bother with that. I breed to get some traits on Pals for certain things, but breeding/catching 118 of them just to get that is insane, especially on default settings. There isn't nearly enough content in the game to justify the time spend doing that.
And that's coming from someone that has spend thousands of hours in survival/crafting games. By which I mean I have a high tolerance for screwing around for hours on end with these games, not that I'm some sort of authority on it.
