Really? With 9 people left, no "Who wins Survivor?" Especially when the person who likely would have won that poll 24 hours ago got voted out.

The auction was awesome but flawed. Kinda designed to just run down the list of who has the most money and who can spend it the fastest to avoid being penalized. No actual auctioning was happening.

totally unrelated note to anything in the poll or indeed any airing series, i'd been thinking about a series that has been vaguely living in my head rent free for the past 20 years that I just couldn't remember the name of for the life of me. it was about looking for a person (in New Zealand, it was a local show here) with a certain name, using cellphones and phonebooks

So after sleeping in it, I think they really edited Kellie's blindside very well. A lot of the time you see a young woman get booted at this point in the season for being a "big threat" seemingly out of nowhere. But Kellie was edited to be a subtle-but-present threat all season, and Drew, the person who lead the charge to get rid of her, did a good job explaining why he perceived her as a threat and why this was the most opportune time to blindside her, and his reasons lined up with what we saw of her all season. Then they further blindsided us by editing TC to make us think Jake was STILL going home because his pitch to stay was legendarily bad. Good job, editors.

AUSTIN'S SANDWICH VENGEANCE - COMPLETE.

Kellie by far my favourite on Survivor, damn, brutal blindside but really well executed... don't know who to root for, I guess I'm on Team Emily now? Though the good news is I like something about everyone left (except Julie) so should be entertained the rest of the way at least. Still sad.

So following up that heartbreak with Amazing Race and it looks like Anna Leigh and her father were going out for the majority of the episode and they're my #1 team on that show and I can't remember (if ever) losing both my #1s in the same night when the two shows aired together and it suckeddddd but damn what a miracle recovery. Even if going for the express pass is such a dumb move in that situation (not to mention missing the "taken" sign)

Started watching it after I visited my parents and they were watching it. It's good...ish. Big fan of the two traitors, not so much a Mai fan since her clash w/ the legendary Rick the Temp lol (she is definitely cute though)

(somebody needs to tell old lady Donna who keeps wearing WAY too revealing shirts to stop though)

Finally caught up. Can't say I was expecting Kellie to go there. That was screaming "Well, we need something as the decoy boot since Bruce is safe" to me. Shame, as she was one of the better Belos. Hopefully Austin or Emily can pull it off now (or Jake, but I doubt that's happening).

I can't believe Steve & Anna Leigh survived that after going for the Express Pass. That looked like it took Steve a long time, and the beehive detour looked to be the slower one. I guess Morgan & Lena got that lost looking for the parking garage.

Also, I'm shocked the 500 post in the last topic wasn't "Drew sucks". That's what I expected when I saw Inviso got it.

And yeah, 1/3 of the cast losing their vote at this point is just stupid. The auction twist was kind of lame too except for the fact that the victim was guy who had the least amount of money to start (though that was probably how this was going to end if everyone played intelligently).

I do think Emily and Austin have the strongest winner edits left by far.

Emily has a great zero-to-hero story going on that literally began its turnaround at the end if the first episode and has only gotten stronger all season. I could definitely see her pulling the full Chris Daugherty here.

Austin is a triple threat and good at downplaying the fact that he is a threat, plus he has a social/strategic meatshield as his closest ally. He reminds me a lot of Devon, who would have won his season if not for last-second BS.

Dee is a distant third. She has some solid content but feels like she's just not central to any storylines. She's a side character when she probably shouldn't be if she wins.

Jake is next. If he wins, it's the Fabio edit, but I think there are too many good players on this season for them to edit their winner that way.

Kendra reminds me a lot of Alison - always trying to put something together and seems like she should have the clout to do so, but it never goes her way and she's always stunned at TC. Also like Alison, I think she has the makings of a great Survivor player but this just wasn't her season.

Drew is too confident. He seems to be being set up for a blindside or a FTC loss.

Julie just doesn't have the content. She's second-banana to Dee who is already not a main character.

Katurah's story is completely tied to Bruce's. Despite her high screentime, she has little meaningful content of her own. She's a foil in the bigger picture.

Bruce is too over-the-top and his second-person visibility is almost completely negative. This would be one thing if he were trying to be a villain, but as far as we know he isn't, and is totally unaware that anyone other than Katurah dislikes him.

InB4 we get a Bruce win because the editors were sick of people watching SA6 and saying "US Survivor would never edit their winner that way."

Awesome blindside. But it really was a pure editing trick. The red alliance with Emily had clear numbers here and activating Austin's idol is ridiculously valuable. If they showed equal footage of both plans being discussed, we would've thought Kellie was obvious.

Although it seems like they perfectly kept others in the dark about. So it was a very accurate edit allowing the audience to feel like Kellie and Jake. That's way better than previous season blindside edits where you can tell they are just trying to create drama and the players didn't really see it that way.

This makes the 5 alliance very clear though. And they do have the numbers now. I could see Emily taking it.

Yeah 10 people and as low as 6 items was a bad idea. All the new rules were very good but they needed maybe 15-25 items, so people could get 2-3 items. That would end up being a super long segment, but I feel like they've done that in the past and rushed through a bunch of the smaller items.

It'll feel a little more relaxing watching these tonight knowing I don't have to get up for work in the morning.

Yeah, getting rid of Kellie was the right move, because Belo is dead in the water without her.

Well, Reba now has 4/7 votes. That was a waste.

Of course the only Reba member of the three is the only one to solve the puzzle.

Yeah, I was expecting Kendra to go as the start of Dee's downfall.

So do Rob & Corey have to find the mussels on the buoy they took? I don't know why else they'd spend all this time looking for it if they don't.

I think so. Probably something like there are only so many marked buoys, and even if you have a team choosing the other detour, it'd still be unfair for one team to like, take three buoys.

Survivor 45 - the one with multiple specific Pokemon references

As much as Dee's increasing arrogance frustrated me, talking about evolving into a Charizard tugged at my heartstrings.

Lame episode, though. Too much focus on a terrible twist that only served to stifle a potential big move that Emily was considering. Imagine her rallying Belo, including Katurah, to take out a couple Rebas before duking it out. This is why more twists = a bad thing.

I have no faith in Katurah going along with that plan. Honestly, this twist might be a blessing for Emily because her best chance of getting Dee out is pulling a JT-like move and taking advantage of a split vote and Bruce's idol to get Dee out on a 3-2-0 vote.

Bruce could... actually be the winner? And his story just truly started. Never expected that. Honestly, my top three right now are Emily, Bruce, and Austin.

The final was today and she won the darn thing! Despite having been the sole survivor from her premerge tribe and thus biggest target for a good while. Started winning when it matters.

This is actually a very clever and believable bluff. Especially since the only person Kellie would have told, Kendra, is also gone now.

I have a feeling this is going to backfire and get Katurah voted out. It'd make her storyline make sense.

Bruce is a top tier character this season. We haven't had a quality male lunatic in what feels like forever.
