Plus it's a black bear. They are essentially large raccoons. They can still hurt you but they are far more likely to scurry off if you make threatening noises while approaching them.

Now if it was a brown bear....yeah, that's his kitchen now.

You're as bad as the other day when I saw a story about how someone's dog found like 99 or so injured cats in alleys n such, which were rescued, and someone posted "so this prisoner captured free creatures and also made them prisoners", or something to that effect, even though it was pretty clear that the cats were sick and/or injured so very clearly the dog saved them from a likely soon death.

Dogs understand commands like "no" or "get down" because they've been trained.

This woman legitimately expected a wild-ass bear to grasp what she was saying and obey her.

Lol, are you denying that dogs can differentiate verbal commands?

Animals (mammals anyway) mostly think emotionally and through realizations. A pet dog might understand a certain sound we make means they want them to come or lay down but a wild animal like this might realize a human wants them gone by yelling at them and that's only from the volume. To them, it'd just be a weirdly complex shout that makes them realize "this skinny thing here wants me to leave!"
