It's all like "What opinion do you have that makes you like this still image from the movie Tangled?" and then it happens across like 10 subreddits in the same 48 hour period. Or it's "Pick a number from 1-9999 and I'll send you an image from my image folder". Or "Name your favorite song/movie/pokemon/candle scent and I'll rate it out of 10".
I'm probably selectively not remembering all the times it's not that but it feels like every three weeks there's some social media engagement attempt and it's always Unpopular opinion, pick a number or let me rate your opinion. This topic sucks by the way --- "You're made of spare parts, aren't ya, bud?" ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's engagement bait. It's incentivized by systems that provide monetary payout for views and interactions. And a picture of the Tangled guy is has a great effort-to-engagement ratio.

That makes sense. It just feels off to me. Advice Animals used to drive me fucking nuts because it felt like people pushing insanely unimportant bullshit in my face.
