They came up with the idea to take turns shooting each other while wearing a bulletproof vest. Ferris put on the bulletproof vest first and told Hicks to shoot him. The vest stopped the bullet, but Ferris got mad because it hurt. Hicks put on the bulletproof vest next and then Ferris shot him 5 times. They both only suffered bruises, but Ferris' wife told him to go to the hospital. The hospital had to report this to police. They initially made up a lie to tell the police, but Ferris' wife got to the hospital a short time later and told investigators the real story.
