Mildly salty because I really miss my Vita and would love to play Persona 4 on an OLED again,

But the Steam Deck I have is still a great product that I get tons of use out of. Will probably wait to see if a successor with OLED comes out in the next five years before bothering with this one though <_<

Double the storage too. How easy is it to upgrade storage on the old Steam Decks? Never got that far with mine.

It's not too hard but it's easier on the new one since the screw threads are now metal instead of plastic so you aren't at such risk of stripping it if you misthread the screw when reassembling.

for me , portable gaming is just more accessible. I dont always have time to play a game for an hour or so on the console but with the switch I can just pick it up for 10 or 20 mins at a time when I take a break from whatever Im doing . Ive finished for more games on portable systems than I have on consoles .

I kind of missed the Deck this summer and played a lot of Switch. Not because I prefer handhelds, but because my desktop blows out so much hot air running AAA games I had to crank up the AC. It can raise the room temp by 10 degrees or so.

Kind of considering getting another SD to save money on the electric bill.

They can EASILY resell their old Steamdecks for 35 of the retail price. Anyone will be glad af to scoop one up for the price of a brand new Switch.

I don't think the ports changed. From what I gather it's just a bigger/better OLED screen, lighter, better battery life, more storage. The form factor stays the same. You can connect to TV with a USBC to HDMI cable like the old one.

Nothing changed except what you mentioned. It also with a smaller die probably runs a bit cooler too.

Some of the hardware is different but it won't run games any better than the LCD version. It's similar to the difference between a V1 and OLED Switch, just QOL improvements that only matter in handheld mode.

Have they ever released a Valve Index 2? Then they just abandoned the Steam controller. I got a couple when they were on clearance for $5.

What a clusterfuck. I tried for 20 minutes to check out with the limited edition model in my cart and got nothing but errors. Then it was sold out.

I'd imagine there are mod kits to change colors anyway like other handhelds. Haven't looked into that but I know Switch has tons.

I also found out Steam has like, no customer support. It's literally impossible to talk to a human via chat or phone call. They should at least have a phone number for their expensive hardware.

I got mine not too long ago so I definitely feel the pain and I wouldn't be able to get the OLED anyway as the Steam Deck isn't really available in my country, but it's alright, I'm super happy with the device I own and will be putting it to use until the eventual Steam Deck 2 releases in two or three years.

If this one breaks somehow I would get the OLED model though lol, but otherwise I'm content with what I have.
