I pick product, put it in a box bring it to the staging lane and if there is a pallet there consolidate it to that pallet and repeat until I run out of orders or until it's time to leave for the day at least that's the main job. What other things I tend to end up doing are consolidating product to pallets that haven't been consolidated yet, taking my product to the shipping lane instead of the staging lane because there is no staging lane where I have to consolidate it to whichever pallet has the matching store number on it. For example I finish an order for store 552 but store 552 doesn't have a staging lane so I bring that box over to the shipping lane and consolidate it to the matching pallet there. Other times I get what are called "Hot" orders which are priority orders, they're usually small like 1 or 2 products and either have to go out to the shipping lane, the Fedex lane, which is a staging lane specifically for Fedex or even just the usual staging lane.

I don't make a lot of money doing this, my take home pay is 500 dollars a week but I don't despise it, the place is small, the people are nice, I work by myself so my social anxiety doesn't act up and sometimes I get to go home early.

But still, how bad is this job to have for someone whose going to be 35 in a month?

How many hours a week is this

8, sometimes 9 during peak season and just this upcoming week we're working 9 hours for 2 days and have to work Saturday

Sounds like it's good enough for now, so don't feel bad about it.

All that for 8-9 hours a week? Not bad at all TC. In fact I know several people who would like a job like yours.

Really? I hope they find one, I'm honestly surprised at how well this job is going for me because it's coming up on my 1 year anniversary of being hired there.

i drive light rail public transport for not much more than that at 40 hour a week

that's not bad at all, if it really is only 32h/mo or 8h/week

If you don't hate it, it pays enough to keep you going, you like the people you work with and it suits your personality, that sounds pretty darn good in my books.

Yeah, no kidding. My aspiring artisan friends would especially love it. They are used to frugal living but they still need some sort of steady income to pay those pesky bills.

500 dollars for 8-9 hours a week is perfect here. And as another big plus, you don't have to deal with any annoying workplace social interaction too. Win-win!

So is it Amazon? So do your managers keep hounding on being slow or fast, that's all I hear about Amazon is like a sweatshop inside of there.

Nothing particularly bad about the job, but it doesn't hurt to look for other opportunities if you are worried. The job may not be there forever and your body might not be able to handle it either.

i work 40 a week and my monthly take home is only about 1k more than yours so id say thats pretty good on your end

Damn, 8 hours a week aint bad at all. Sure the take home pay isnt that much, but who cares when you have all that free time?
