Starfox 1 and Star Fox 64

2 is decent but is inferior to 1 and 64. Plus there's basically no levels, just combat arenas with maybe a short section to puzzle through once in a while
Adventure wasn't really a Star Fox game and the Arwing sections sucked
Assault was too bloated down with the on foot crap and is linear
Command is extremely repetitive and is literally just the same arena over and over again with no actual levels
Zero obviously has that horrible control scheme that just puts a damper on the entire game

1 and 64 are fucking amazing games and it blows my mind that the Star Fox series has so much squandered potential. It really could've been amazing if they just stuck with the tried and true formula in 1 and 64 and not don't weird shit so often.

Adventure is a great game and I'm fed up of everyone pretending it isn't.

To this day I wish we could get a proper Adventure remake with the intended vision for Star Fox Adventures rather than the product that was rushed before the studios sale.

64 was my favorite n64 game.

That's why Fox took over SSBM.

It was, but it is way more Dinosaur Planet than it is Star Fox. Its not quite Cloverfield level of title change but you could remove any Star Fox element and the game would barely change.

And one hell of an animated series (that is two episodes long)

I do like it, but it definitely falls apart towards the end >_> that crater satellite or whatever is literally just like 3 turret sections in a row, and then the fight with General Scales is just a cutscene (and if you stand there before hitting him, he never attacks you). Plus the game is super linear: Besides the cheat tokens (which don't do anything worthwhile), there's only like 1 optional staff upgrade iirc. Everything else is just given to you.

I just wish it was more open and more polished. It's still a fun game but it doesn't live up to its potential. The Dinosaur Planet leak looks way more interesting. idk if them have to rush converting it to Star Fox and being bought up by Microsoft had anything to do with it

I've never played it. It might be good. But I think fans are madcthar the original game concept of Star Fox never came back after 64. They shouldn't have changed the very genre of the series. I want a new traditional Star Fox on Switch or Switch 2

I think they need to severely speed it up and make the game bigger nowadays though. Maybe something like Chorvs.

it's a tough world for furries.

I had the most fun with SF:Assault personally, multiplayer was too good.

This, basically. I loved SF64, and hate that they felt the need to go in a different direction that no one really asked for.

The weird thing is that after two successful games they decided to throw the basic gameplay out the window.

Then they forgot how to make that gameplay fun.

People really getting nostalgic for Adventure recently, but forget that it is very unfinished towards the end, and it shows. The game needed more time to cook, because it feels like it could have been better. I loved a lot of it as a teen though. Looked and sounded amazing back then.

Assault had some good moments, but was bogged down by really repetitive and shallow on foot missions.

Zero is actually really good, but some of the control issues REALLY mess it up. Game needs a remake fast.

I actually really like 2. It is pretty hectic when you play it for rank. It is difficult and demands a lot of thinking for efficiency.

Maybe Nintendo could license it out to Namco and just do Ace Combat but with a StarFox skin

I still enjoy it. Kick ass soundtrack and brutal difficulty still hold up

Assault I'm particularly miffed about because it could've very well been the modernized version of Star Fox but it wasn't fully realized with shoddy execution and way too much on-foot stuff.

I actually liked Assault. There, I said it.
