It keeps booting me out of each lobby after the game ends. Want to stay in the same lobby with these nerds.

That's part of the 'engagement based matchmaking' they've had for like half a decade

If you have a string of games where you play bad, it'll drop you down a couple 'skill tiers' and match you with easier opponents to keep you playing

If you suddenly started playing like a league pro for a few games, you'll get put in tougher lobbies with higher skill players

This was put in place to protect lower skill players (i.e. Timmy No Thumbs) to make sure they keep playing and spend money on cosmetics

Because their metrics found low skill players would drop the game too quick in the past and those were potential spenders they were losing out on

This. Disbanding lobbies and this new "engagement optimized matchmaking" system has been a thing since MW2019, and it really sucks. What's even worse about it is that it actually prioritizes finding opponents of the proper skill level over connection quality, so as you get better at the game, the pool of players you have to match with gets smaller, your connection quality gets worse, and your gaming experience gets worse. The casual players and the players of "average" skill levels are basically playing a completely different game compared to the players in the higher skill brackets.

It's bugging me moreso because I start matchmaking, get dumped into a match that's half over, that one ends, get booted from that lobby, get dumped into a half over match, rinse and repeat.

So it's literally impossible to start a game from the beginning?

I got put in a lot of in progress matches last night. More than I have in recent games. It was pretty annoying.

I worry I'm lagging too but I have no idea if it's the shit matchmaking or if my internet situation needs changing. I don't really have any other games I can test with at the moment so it's hard to tell.

I play a lot of WW2 and it has lobbies that stay together and it's a nice feature.

I've wished there were an option to only join games that haven't started yet. Cause more often than not, when you join a game already in progress, you're just taking the place of some dude who rage quit cause his team (now your team) is getting it's ass kicked.
How the fuck is that supposed to be fun?

CoD WW2 is so underrated. It launched in a pretty bad state, but Sledgehammer (after firing the stubborn dumbasses Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield) fixed it up with a massive overhaul update, gave it a ton of post-launch content, and turned it into my favorite CoD multiplayer experience since BO2.

I haven't had any lag issues at least, but I'm also on Google Fiber gigabit with a hardwired connection.

Yeah I'm on gig too but it's not hardwired, however it's definitely close to the router with one wall between. Downloading the game certainly didn't take long.

Might have to try a booster
