ive never bought a brand new phone model before. Ill buy a phone thats 2 or 3 models behind whatever is the most current model every 3-5 years or so and always on sale. So i definitely think i spent more individually on a PS5

That's a difficult comparison. There are many models of phone, and even somewhat older ones can still do the job. I'm inclined to say you should spend enough to get something that will work well for a long time. Consoles are like, do you want the current console from this company? Here's the MSRP.

It has both. Camera isn't great but I'm not an Instagram influencer so it does all I need.

Consoles last a lot longer than phones do. I've never bought a phone for more than $400

I think the highest I've ever spent on a phone is $125, and for me that was high for a phone, so... Console.

If you include PC in gaming then that. Otherwise it's pretty close though as i'd probably pay 400 max for a phone and at the moment i'd probably pay 400 max for a PS5 if it had a few games or extra pad with it ect.

These days phone, lifetime definitely PC

It's incredibly dumb to me that phones are are expensive as they are but I've happily dropped upwards of $2k on PC parts all at once multiple times and will absolutely do so again. (Though I guess that's not saying much since these days GPUs are creeping up to cost almost that much by themselves X_X)

Yeah this. Budget smartphones get the job done for me

I don't need to do fancy things with my smartphones so midrange is fine for me (I usually go for the ones around $150-$250).

What'd I get if I spend $200? A preloved PS4 without the controller, maybe.
