I've never gotten so much attention from women before, but as soon as I just.. stopped shaving altogether, I am just getting attention and looks I have never gotten before.

So, uhh, I guess if you're having trouble try that.

It's ironic because I only stopped shaving because I fell into a deep depression and gave up on my appearance.

That's what I thought, and people even told me to shave it off, but then I gave it 5 months and suddenly it looks great. Idk, just use what you've got.

My beard is half blonde, so it took a little bit to even show up.

gorgeous beards. My facial hair grows like Joe Dirts patchy and trashy looking. So you studs have me jealous.

I don't fully shave because I always get terrible razor bumps for days afterward, no matter what methods or products I use. But my beard never gets very thick no matter how long I try to grow it out. I just trim with some clippers every few days.

I always joke that my facial hair makes me look like an amish sex criminal. It's gotten a fair bit better, but I still usually just keep a moustache.

Beards can be a huge improvement if you maintain them. An unkempt beard just makes you look homeless or crazy, but a nice trim beard is almost always an upgrade for most guys.

I get plenty of compliments on my beard (more from guys but still some from ladies) but it has done absolutely nothing to get me a gf

beard hides my double chin. I think it helps.
Wife likes it because the beard is softer than my 5 o-clock shadow and my skin doesn't like me shaving daily.

TBF Yellow didn't say he got a gf, just "attention" and looks, whatever that means. And we all know guys can read too much into things, not to accuse anyone in particular of doing that.

I mean, if attention is all you get why bother bringing that up? I get attention from women too but if it goes nowhere then it means nothing. If anything its worse than getting no attention because you don't get you hopes up for nothing.

I don't know, I think I'd rather be attractive and lonely than ugly and lonely. The one pitfall I guess would be if you think you can rely so hard on your looks that you put off addressing the real problem, which in like 99% of cases is social skills

I like TC so I'm not trying to rain on his parade but attention without going further is kinda pointless. Sure it's a nice ego boost in the moment but it doesn't help with loneliness.

I really don't think I'm misinterpreting it. Just... looks I've been getting. It's hard to quantify. Tbh I think men and women look for different things that the other is completely unaware of. There's nothing intuitively attractive about a beard, to a man, we wouldn't think twice about it.

Glad you're having a good experience with it. I remember when something similar happened to me, I got a positive reaction too, but someone else having a positive reaction to it made me feel pretty bad, instead. Turned out the answer to that one was because I'm a trans woman and it was really going in the wrong direction for me, but unless there's more to this you didn't mention it sounds like that's probably not your case.

not a whole beard, but i definitely look better with a 5 o'clock shadow. even been told i looked 10 years younger than i actually am.

My beard is fine. Not as much as I want it to be due to what I've been given but it's certainly better I have a beard and not clean shaven.

Yeah ok maybe it's kind of sketchy, which is why I'd never grow it out unless I was just curious.

I've been thinking of seeing a barber that can help me figure out what works best for my (not so thick) hair. I had a goatee for a while, I feel like sometimes when you want to move on from something you also want to physically look different.

Maybe I get looks in spite of the beard. I also think it still looks alright.
