there's a lot of answers

if they don't care about politics in the sense that there are a lot of other things they'd prefer to care about instead, okay sure. whatever. I may care about politics but that sure as hell doesn't mean I like them.

if they use the "gamer" definition of politics and what they consider "political" is minorities, women, or LGBT people and content, that's just being silly. and probably also a sign they are at least passively okay with fascism.

It's perfectly possible even for people who are politically conscious to become so disillusioned and cynical about political tribalism and the system that in the end, they throw up their hands in despair -- because they feel no party truly represents them, and that all winners of the game only play it to serve their own interests -- and become sick and tired of politics.

Politics doesnt affect everyone equally or at least not enough for them to tangibly notice usually. So from that perspective I can see why many wouldnt care about it. So its not so much a matter of maturity but more so privilege in my opinion.

A little bit of both. It's immature not being able to let politics slide in your daily life. No you don't have to argue with that family member or coworker. The reality of it is, that outside the vote, it doesn't really matter what your daily opinions about it are. Most of your life is not politics.

That said, sticking your head in the sand is also immature. The mature thing would be to stay educated, and make sure you vote right.

Politics are discussed by some of the trashiest and least intelligent people in the country, the absolute bottom of the barrel. No, I dont consider someone mature or immature based on that. A persons worldviews determine that more than anything. There are literally so many other things about a person you could use to decide if someone is immature.
