wow this game comes out in a few days and i have seen like 0 hype

I feel like the Yakuza series doesn't really get hype or advertising. Fans of the series track when a new game comes out and they all buy it, so each game seems to sell pretty well overall, but outside of word of mouth they don't really try to expand their audience. Which is fine, BTW, but that's how it seems.

CyricZ already beat it three years ago and is waiting to release a guide so as not to look suspicious

i'd buy it but i haven't really played any of them after yakuza 0 and i own literally all of them on steam >_>

It feels like all the marketing shifted to Like A Dragon 8 and hasnt touched like Gaiden too much

Which is odd because ngl beat em ups >>>> turn-based rpg

I had zero hype for it before but once they revealed it was supposed to be DLC and they only made it in like 6 months I was like yeah I'm not interested in this garbage

On top of this, they announced the English dub won't be releasing until a later date. With both these things in mind they're hardly giving much of a reason for people to rush out and buy at launch.

I love the franchise though so I'll pick it up anyway but it's definitely getting a bit of a side-eye from me.

how to kill hype for your $50 game:

wanting to do the karaoke again.

I heard that it'll be at least twice as long as the Kaito Files which was good but damn I took my time with that and I still probably could have beat it in a couple days if I really wanted to. Glad I only paid 15 dollars for it. I didn't do the hidden boss fight because I don't care about that stuff, but I still walked around the city a lot and took in the atmosphere.

I'm still pretty hyped about this Gaiden game though.

I already have enough yakuza games that I haven't got to.

I'll get this later.
