Yeah for a contrived reasoning saying there was no legal avenue for that. When in fact people believed him based on the fact as he was touting at the time he was some great negotiator that would convince them in some deal only he is capable of negotiating.

Which is very legal just logistically impossible. He is also banking they will remember what he tells them to remember and even if they do remember they will be just as disingenuous as him using it to counter holding him account for not delivering on that promise whether they are stupid or not.
