Heard the first game is ass. (I dont care how good the story is, if the gameplay isnt fun I dont want to play it) people said you should play Witcher 1 and 2 but both those games were ass. The first game is amazing. Also highly recommend playing Control which ties directly in to the world of Alan Wake, and other Remedy games (Max Payne 1 and 2, and Quantum Break) which have tentative ties to this universe if not being directly related.

Alan Wake 1 gameplay is pretty good just there's basically only 3 enemies the whole game. Dude. Axe Throwing Dude. Chainsaw Dude.

Idk where the first Alan Wake got the rep for being a bad game, maybe it was because it didn't sell well, or a top critic or two didn't like it, but it was great. It's rare I play through a game twice and I did with that one, and American Nightmare.

there's so much in Alan Wake 2 that hinges on the idea that you know the first game pretty well, watch an LP at the very least

1st ones gameplay got pretty stale and shows its age to me but it wasnt so bad I couldnt finish it. The story more than held my attention
If you dont care about story then i dont think Alan Wake is for you at all though American Nightmare has better gameplay but the story was ass to me They gave up Twin Peaks in favor of a random Twilight Zone episode :/ You dont need to play Alan Wake 1 but itll help saying you need to watch a LP at the least is weird. Just play Alan Wake Remastered. There's nothing really that wrong with it except it pretends to care about resources but it doesn't ever really matter too much.

You need to play alan wake INSTEAD of alan wake 2 because there the story and protagonist is actually him if you just want good gameplay then the standalone dlc american nightmare has the better combat and a contained story ... Copied to Clipboard!
