call it? I just saw a video title from corporate shill LevelCap and it had Citizencon in the video title. Those literal scum scamming pos scammers shouldn't have their own convention where they probably talk about which $50,000 ship they spent on until they release the full game and stop scamming people for money for a game that will never be released

As much as a scam as it is, it looks so much better than Starfield.

it makes silly amounts of money and even though development is moving at a slug pace the end result is going to be amazing (in like 60 years hurr durr). The server meshing they showed off last night is actually a huge deal going forward performance and future feature wise. I check out the live PTU every now and then and its actually starting to resemble a working, fun game now at the moment.

Even if it does release, it's pretty much going to suffer Duke Nukem syndrome, in the fact that it's been so long, it'll never be able to fully live up to hype. At this point, a perpetual "early access" where they just keep taking feedback & expanding it, might be the more practical solution.

i think star citizen has turned into a forever project that will keep getting built on, its Squadron 42 (the single player version with mark hamill) that will have a release. i feel like an offline version of this game not relying on servers that shit the bed will be amazing. we haven't seen much of SQ42 yet but I think thats about to change this Von.

Supposedly they created a lot of cool systems, and none of them will see the light of day cuz they're more focused on getting money from excited people. They have an incredibly expensive office, staff, but they're not getting as much money as they projected. The bubble might one day pop

Their projection was just ridiculous because people kept giving them way more money that it's required to actually create a game like this

They're actually doing some pretty interesting and somewhat groundbreaking stuff in their engine, but it's all on a backdrop of a unreasonable demo that is perpetually in alpha. CitizenCon is more like a technical conference than a celebration of an actual game

CIG has plenty of snake practices for people who sink thousands ino the game but the starter packs are like 50-80 USD. The "thousand dollar ships" can then be earned in-game as cash is pretty easy to earn to facilitate testing. My hangar is worth about 2 grand even tho ive only put in 60 bucks. it does get wiped every big update though.

So even the players who only spend 60 bucks are still managingto get ripped off? Do they wipe the thousand dollar starships every big update too?

It's not a scam, they ARE making a game and investing the money into it.

It of course is never coming out, the game may not be a scam but it IS Feature Creep: The Game.

They have bit off WAY more than they can chew.

here is the number 1 thing that would sink the game on the off chance it ever comes out

new players will not be able to play it as they did not invest the insane money that others did

its libertarian BS logic the game will run on

I'm sure the game will eventually come out, as so much money and manhours of labor has went into it.

But I just want to see a Star Wars mod or something where it's basically like the old LucasArts X-Wing and Tie-Fighter games but 100x the scope.
