Alright, I'm gonna bite. John Bubniak, the original actor, is 30 years old. And he looks quite a bit younger than the actual in-game face model, mainly due to lacking all of the aging lines. So when you consider that they took the face of somebody who is 30 (26 at the time, but he still looks roughly the same now), and made the face look noticeably older than his actual face, saying "He looks in his 40s" isn't even remotely crazy.
